What's new
Kaspersky created a special version of the application for residents of the U.S. state of California. If you are a resident of the U.S. state of California, you need to download and install the Personal or Family version of the application.
The following new features and improvements are introduced in Kaspersky Security Cloud:
- Improved Web Anti-Virus component:
- Improved notification texts that warn about attempts to visit phishing or potentially phishing websites.
- When HTTPS traffic scan is off, Kaspersky Protection extension carries on the protection.
- Improved interaction between the user and Technical Support. The application now contains a link to Technical Support chat (not available in some application versions).
- Fixed vulnerability issue that used to appear when creating Mozilla Firefox browser files.
- Updated the installer icon consistent with the new brand style.
- Devices in My Network component has been optimized. Scan of the network starts 15 minutes after the application is installed.
- It is now possible to go to My Kaspersky light version directly from the application.
- It is now possible to hide removable drive scan window.
- Added support for Microsoft Windows 10 21H1.
- Fixed vulnerability issue of arbitrary file deletion when saving the application operation report for Technical Support.
- Fixed vulnerability issue of arbitrary file deletion when deleting service data and application operation reports.
- Improved search for incompatible software that prevents Kaspersky Security Cloud to work correctly.
- Implemented the "Do not Disturb" application mode. In this mode, the application does not show some notification types if the user is occupied.
Functionality that was removed in the current and previous versions of the application
Kaspersky Security Cloud 4:
- Removed the Application Advisor feature.
- Removed the IM Anti-Virus feature.
- Removed the Trusted Applications mode.
- Limited support for the old Microsoft Edge browser. This browser no longer supports Secure Data Input and Protected Browser. You continue to be protected during Traffic scanning.
- Discontinued support for the Kaspersky Protection extension in the Internet Explorer browser.
- Removed the ability to save backups to a FTP server.
Kaspersky Security Cloud 2:
- The Application Manager component no longer provides the System Changes Control feature for monitoring operating system settings.
- The following features have been removed from the Anti-Spam component:
- Integration with Microsoft Office Outlook and Outlook Express.
- Management of a custom spam database.
- Scans of messages transmitted over the Exchange MAPI protocol.
- Addition of a sender's address to the list of allowed addresses during Anti-Spam training.
- Actions upon detection of spam messages: move, copy, delete, and ignore.
If you want to continue using any of the removed functionality, you can go back to the previous version of the application.
