Issue
The installation of a Kaspersky application fails with error 1326: “Error accessing file security”.
Solution
Try installing the application again after completing each step. If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
- Use the kavremover tool to remove remaining files of Kaspersky applications previously installed on your PC following these instructions.
- Scan your PC for viruses with Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool:
- Download Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool.
- Run a system scan using these instructions.
If the tool does not start, change the file name and run it once again. If the issue persists, scan the system using Kaspersky Rescue Disk using these instructions.
- Wait until the tool completes its work.
- Restore the default permissions for the %ProgramData% folder specified in the error message:
- Open the command line as administrator using these instructions.
- Run the command:
icacls %ProgramData% /T /Q /C /reset
